About Our Translation Services

My name is Lidia Morales Olivares and I am a Seville-born, France-based philologist and translator. After graduating in German Studies, I specialised in language teaching in secondary education and also studied English Studies. During that time, I was lucky enough to be a student at some of the most reputed universities: the University of Sevilla, the University of Montpellier-I (France), the Ruprecht-Karls University of Heidelberg (Germany) and the University of Tucson in Arizona (USA). More recently, I completed a complementary master’s degree in Audiovisual Translation at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

Over the last 16 years I have nurtured my passion for languages by living in different countries where I conducted my professional career. I have been mainly devoted to the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language, however also worked as a translator. After several years in the USA and 9 years in Germany, I currently live in southern France and am a freelance audiovisual translator specialised in subtitling, dubbing and respeaking. I also translate children’s literature, film reviews, interviews, fashion, tourism, human rights, international conferences, etc.

I am a gifted, detail-oriented, very creative linguist. My background in humanities took me into audiovisual translation which, with the use of technology, made me passionate about subtitles and speech recognition software. Furthermore, my experience abroad has positively shaped my personality and my way of thinking. I work for both translation agencies and direct clients. Literature is one of my passions, as well as fashion design and crafting.

Translation of international documents
I have translated international documents advocating for human rights across the globe, as well as works of writers and journalists who have been persecuted and imprisoned.
